Frank Sherwin was an English artist primarily known for his watercolour paintings of landscapes. From the late 1930's through to the 1950's he was commissioned by various railway companies to produce posters promoting holiday destinations around Briton. This collection of pictures from the family archive is mostly painted in gouache on board and reflect the same interest in landscape and the British countryside. The simplicity of composition and limits colour palette give the paintings a timeless feel. There are more paintings in the process of being digitised.
