February - Artists in Focus

1st February 2012: We're delighted to high-light the work of talented artists Brian Sweet & Lorna Siviter - as our February Artists of the Month.

Brian's classically retro images of the countryside are remeniscent of the 1930's - our favourite image is 'Butterspread'. Lorna offers a modern illustration style with a contemporary twist are fresh, vibrant, and fun.

Which one is your favourite? We are partial to the little reindeers on our home page....and 'Toast & Jam' is rather fun too...ideal for a wide range of licensing areas, from stationery to feel-good prints

Happy Burns Day

In celebration of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns, we are highlighting the work of Art House artist Brigid Collins. Passionate in her desire to forge relationships between images and poetry, Brigid creates paintings and assemblages in 2 and 3D.

Brigid's publications include “For A’ That” (2009) an anthology of contemporary writing in response to Robert Burns, with contributions from Janice Galloway, Kirsty Gunn, Bill Manhire and DBC Pierre and others.
